Close collaboration with the client yielded a thoughtful design expression that links the rich Qatari past to the country’s futuristic vision. Water ripples and sand dunes, two of the simplest elements in the Qatari landscape, served as design inspiration and helped establish a contemporary visual language. Organizing the expansive site and ensuring an optimal experience for visitors, the main axis layout brings hierarchy and ephemeral interest to the palaces, majlis and mosque.
Composition and detailing of arrival plazas, water features, terraced plantings, amenities and pedestrian walkways enhance typologies and create hubs of activities with supportive views from the buildings.
Contributing to the country’s new legacy, EDSA provided detailed design services focused on a contemporary palette of meticulous finishes, textures, colors and materials that add to the harmonious atmosphere with accommodations for public gatherings and private relaxed spaces for the Royal family.The property features 417 hotel rooms, 163 residences, 4 swimming pools, including the largest pool in South Beach, a spa and fitness center, a private beach and a variety of entertainment and dining experiences including a farm-to-table
restaurant.
